This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies Realtors' Practice uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary
- Your Better Auth session cookie, your theme preference (
rp-theme), and your selected display currency. Without these the platform cannot keep you signed in or render its UI correctly. - Functional
- Accessibility preferences you set on the site (
rp:a11y), the mobile bottom-nav state, recently-viewed listings, and any saved-search alerts you opt into. - Analytics
- Lightweight, IP-anonymised page-view and performance telemetry via Vercel Analytics — used to understand which pages are slow or broken, never to profile individual users.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies and we do not run ad-targeting pixels.
Third-party cookies
A small number of cookies come from trusted vendors who power specific parts of the platform:
- Google — when you sign in with Google, Google sets its own session cookies on its domain to complete the OAuth flow.
- Paystack and Flutterwave — set cookies on their own domains during the secure checkout step. We never receive their cookies.
- Cloudflare — sets short-lived DNS and security cookies to protect the site from abuse.
Local storage we use
The platform keeps a few small values in your browser's local storage to make the experience feel instant on return visits:
rp-theme— light/dark/system preference.rp:a11y— accessibility preferences (high contrast, motion paused, text size, link highlighting, dyslexia font, spacing).rp:currency— display currency (NGN/USD).
You can clear local storage at any time from your browser settings.
How to control cookies
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies on a per-site basis. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and disable parts of the platform that depend on session state.
An in-app preferences panel will be added in a future release so you can toggle the analytics category from inside the site itself. Until then, your browser controls are the simplest route.
Do Not Track
We honour the standard Do Not Track signal in browsers that still send it: when present, our analytics telemetry is disabled. We do not currently respond to other proprietary anti-tracking signals.
Write to legal@realtorspractice.com and we'll respond within 30 days as required by NDPR.
